It's been very busy around here the last few days. I photographed Easter sessions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was a lot of fun. I started out with my own children. Daxon just adored the baby chicks. He really is such an animal person. He sat watching them and talking to them for hours. Here are a few photo's I took of him and his favorite little friend.

Daxon's Birthday weekend
We celebrated Daxon's 9th birthday this weekend. We had his birthday party yesterday. It was a small party with family. Britt made pulled pork sandwiches and we had cake and ice cream. Daxon chose vanilla cake with vanilla ice cream. Daxon showed off his bike to everyone during his party. He is loving it. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us!

9 year old photo session
Here are some more images from Daxon's 9 year old Birthday photo shoot. I am about to pick and chose and print a few for his spotlight poster at school. He gets to hang photo's of himself and make a poster all about his interests. I'm excited to work on it with him.

I'm about to have a nine year old!
My Daxon will turn nine years old on March 5th (next Monday). I took Daxon out for his birthday photo session yesterday. Here are a few of the images I took (more to come). I had so much fun spending some one on one time with him while taking these. He had fun as well and didn't want to come home lol. Daxon hates wearing jeans and insisted on wearing his regular school pants. I guess it's his personality, and even more so that he wouldn't unroll his pant legs for me. My little guy is such a character and I love all his uniqueness! He's such a sweet and special person. I'm so lucky to have him in my life.

Happy Valentine's Day Daxon!
I don't have a photo for this post. I just wanted to come and write on your blog. It's late and minutes away from Valentines day and I love you! So very much! This past weekend we went out to Aunt Tiffy's house and you were such a big helper. I really appreciate you in so many ways. You are excited to go to school tomorrow and sat and filled out your Valentine cards tonight. You are also super excited to take your stuffed cat Tim to school tomorrow. I hope you enjoy your day with him. Your almost nine years old and I've started planning your birthday. It's crazy that I'm going to have a nine year old! It doesn't seem like I've had you for that long? I guess time flies when your in love with a small red headed boy! Happy Valentines Day Daxon! ~ Love, Mom

Thoughts of Daxon
Yesterday at dinner I watched Daxon as he set up a place setting and drink of water for his stuffed animal cat Tim. He still carries Tim around everywhere at home, and plays with his stuffed cats daily. He told me that he wants to be a Cat Doctor when he grows up. Yesterday, he made a car for his cats out of a big box that he found. He is great at building and fixing things. It drives Britt crazy because he is always getting in his tools. I recently spent time around other kids Daxon's age and it's made me realize and appreciate his innocence. He has grown in a lot of ways. He has taken an interest in his hair for the first time and has chosen to grow it out. When his sisters loud toy drove him crazy, he took the batteries out. But I'm so glad he he has kept his sweetness and uniqueness. I also couldn't help thinking that it wasn't that long ago that the loud and annoying toys were his! He is turning in to a big kid so fast! Not the best captures because he was running late (he is so not a morning person), but I took a few shots of him before dropping him off at school.

Watermelon session, 2011!
I usually take a watermelon session of my own children each summer. This summer has been so busy that I started thinking I wasn't going to find time. Today I made the time and I'm glad I did. After I took these, I looked back at the photo's from last year and my kids have really grown a lot! Especially Zaylee Sue. They always have a lot of fun during the watermelon session and any other time food is involved :).
